Learning Outcomes |
1. Identify major counseling theories, key figures, their philosophy, and key Concepts. 2. Define and explain techniques relevant to the various theories. 3. Identify major approaches to treatment. 4. Identify the attitudes and skills that are essential to becoming an effective multicultural counselor. |

1. Demonstrate basic knowledge of essential characteristics of an effective counselor. 2. Demonstrate basic knowledge, skills, and attitude that are essential to becoming an effective multicultural counselor. 3. Demonstrate knowledge of a framework for making ethical decisions and issues related to multicultural counseling. 4. Demonstrate basic knowledge of key concepts and commonly used techniques of psychoanalytic therapy, existential philosophy and therapy, humanistic psychology and person centered therapy. 5. Demonstrate knowledge of the key concepts and central characteristics that unite the field of behavior therapy( including Cognitive, CBT and Reality Therapy). |
